Special Session on Computational Collective Intelligence in Economy (CCIE 2011)

Introduction

Secondary schools textbooks define Economics as a study of human behavior. Despite this awareness, economists mainly describe and analyze economical phenomena and try to predict economical problems with the help of terms such as money, production, consumption, transfer, etc. Recent research progress and a growing public interest in Collective Intelligence, makes strong recommendation to use Collective Intelligence as a new tool to analyze economical phenomena and problems. Thus, the aim of this special session on Computational Collective Intelligence in Economy (CCIE), is to bring together researchers interested on Collective Intelligence in Economics, to share their approach to economical problems, present their current research results and discuss the future of Collective Intelligence Methodology in economics. The topics of submitted papers should focus on methods and applications where the tools and techniques exploiting Collective Intelligence are used - to enhance, support or replace the traditional approach to solving economic problems.

Topics of interests

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Formal models and methods of Collective Intelligence which are related to economics
  • Adam Smith's Invisible Hand as a symptom of Collective Intelligence
  • Collective Intelligence of a company/organization as a measure of its power and vitality
  • Optimization of a company/organization through the estimation of its Collective Intelligence and the company's/organizations modification, allowing for an increase of its Collective Intelligence
  • Measuring (estimating) the Collective Intelligence of whole nations (countries) as the alternative to measuring Gross Domestic Product GDP
  • Mental model of the Homo Economicus as the basic component (agent) of the modern Free Market
  • Mental model of the inflation process based on the Collective Intelligence approach
  • Analysis of the dynamics of Stock Exchange processes based on dynamics of Collective Intelligence of interfering interest groups
  • Evolution of economical systems from slavery to the present free market, analyzed through the relation between technological abilities of humans at a given time and implied possible forms of Collective Intelligence
  • Other related topics
